I called an agent on a short sale listing for one of my clients last week. After getting some information he told me that there would be an open house on Sunday. I said, “Great, I’ll send my clients by”
I checked in with my clients today and they said that when they went to the open house and told the agent that they were represented by another agent he told them, “No, you’re hear alone so I’m your agent”. He went on to tell them that they needed to use his lender and tried to set up an appointment for them to come in and sign the offer, WITH HIM!!
My clients really liked the house but realized that this other agent was a sleaze ball and it wouldn’t be a good idea to use his as an agent. Not to mention they wouldn’t be able to take advantage of my Home Buyer Rebate with some other agent.
It’s sad that so many agents are untrustworthy. He needs an offer to save his clients from foreclosure but all he thought about was himself.
